The geniuses behind the scenes of CameraWare have been working on new ways to improve the service. Sometimes these improvements are not visible to the naked eye but still significantly enhance the fun of CameraWare. This issue of What’s New in CameraWare, we will tell you about a couple of improvements you may not have been aware of!
In the beginning of CameraWare, the Tech Support staff would be chained to watching Islander Time, a video of a watch. Manual observation of the video images was all important to detect things like slowing, a sudden decrease in names on the Channel Menu or the (egads!) videos going down altogether. In the past few weeks, engineers have been teaching the software to watch for these things itself, along with countless other performance indicators. Not only can CameraWare now sense if there is a problem, the software can begin taking action to correct itself. Continuity of flawless service is now possible!
This self-righting method has worked so well, the folks at CameraWare
have been working on the same sort of treatment for the statistics in the
Status Area. The software, at server level, is learning to ‘sense’ when
some users are not receiving statistics and take corrective action. All
CameraWare users are Internet Stars…. We want to make sure everyone knows
just how much of a star they really are!
