I am not much on letter writing
but tend to be a lot on soapboxes.
Not sure you will print this
LOL or if anyone is even going to listen to me
First let me start out by saying
I do LOVE the cameraware site
The way it brings us together from around the world
sharing our lives, joys and sadness together
with those we can call friends
and also being able to be ourselves, naughty or nice
with those we can touch if only for a minute.
I love chatting and sharing
and have (and still hope) found a home here
with cameraware!
Now for the soapbox LOL
It is to address the matter of "stealing"
I am sorry to say
that once you put something out for the public
it isn't stealing anymore
if you didn't copywrite it
they aren't taking anything that you didn't offer.
If it truly bothers someone to see themselves turn up
somewhere they didn't give permission to
then take the steps to ensure it doesn't happen
but the whining about it only will draw out more scum
because the ones that didn't realize it could be done
now do
and even with the steps there is no sure fire way to stop it
other than to always code and only give it to trusted friends.
It is like with the stalker story
They are out there
we ourselves is the one that has to be smart enough to protect ourselves.
I guess I can climb down now.
I have a few other issues but will let them pass in favor of this one.
Thank you for letting me vent.
LOL even if it isn't printed.
Wench.

Ed. Note: We at Eye On CameraWare thank you, Wench, for such a candid and astute email. You articulate the concerns that many broadcasters have about rebroadcasting and the ability to stop it. The goal of CameraWare is enjoyment and entertainment for all.... and rebroadcasters infringe on that goal by causing unpleasant feelings. Rebroadcasting serves no good purpose and detracts from the general FUN of videoconferencing. Therefore, the folks at CameraWare have resolved that rebroadcasting is not nice and will not be tolerated. A policy and procedure is in place to deal with rebroadcasters and the system is working exceptionally well. The offender's video rebroadcast can and will be halted immediately. If you, wench, or any other broadcasters find that someone has stolen their image and is rebroadcasting it using CameraWare, please:

Go to the Tech Support chatroom at http://www.cameraware.com/techroom.html.
Supply basic information like the offender's broadcast name, date and time of offense and what day the original images were broadcast.
The Abuse Team at CameraWare is notified immediately and the rebroadcaster's video can be terminated.

The Abuse Team requests that the PERSON WHOSE IMAGE WAS REBROADCAST  file the complaint (not their husband or friend or site moderator). The Abuse Team also requests that you file a complaint IMMEDIATELY; it is much more effective to deal with the rebroadcaster if they are 'caught in the act'.

I just wanted to thank you so much for featuring me on the broadcaster spotlight of the month...since this article I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many fantastic people who have read about me and took the time to come to say hello.
I have had nothing but positive experiences since I have arrived at CameraWare...the people, the places, the fun just can't be beat by anywhere else on the web.  Everyone has made me feel so welcome since day one and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them, especially jojo who has given me a home in Webvoyeur :)))))   Once again, thank you for a safe, enjoyable atmosphere to have some adult fun.....

Flower :)))))

Hi,
I had time to read ALL of the CW news and I am very impressed. It is well rounded and encompasses much of the Internet community. Its good to read informative articles about a service I use for a change. The "we are great and you are too" news can only increase false security. CW has something unique here. A service that gives the uses a safe, uncomplicated community and doesn't try to act like big brother. Keep giving the information and let people be enlightened if they choose to be.
Thank you CWNEWS

Drew.

As a member of a volunteer counseling team I am quite interested in reading the subsequent additions to your article on cyber stalking. Do you have an idea as to when the next additions will become available? I am particularly interested in the next part that looks at when obsessive behavior turns to actual stalking.
We have a person at our church that is a victim and we are looking into how to best help the parties involved.
Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter. The members of our team have enjoyed reading your informative articles so far.

Yours,
(name removed)

Thank you to Eye On CameraWare and the fine folks at CameraWare for giving me a place to publish some of my writings. I have enjoyed the feedback and am having a great time! Thank you to all the readers and videochat participants for a wonderful experience and I look forward to reading and writing more articles for Eye On CameraWare
