<cwnews> Tell
us a little about the history of Webvoyeur.
<Jojo>
I found out about CameraWare through an emailing. I visited a couple of
other Communities but knew from the start I would have my own. I work online
for a living so it seemed like the natural thing to do. I had owned the
name Webvoyeur for quite some time but never had a suitable use for it
until I came to CameraWare. The applets were so easy to copy and paste,
I needed no Tech Support to post it on my site. In November, 2000, Webvoyeur
was born!
<cwnews> Do
you use audio on Webvoyeur?
<Jojo>
Using firetalk for voice now after the demise of HearMe in its former free
version. Not quite as easily accessible as HearMe, but it works
<cwnews> I see
you have a translator. Can you tell us a bit about that?
<Jojo>
Have been using the AltaVista online translator >http://babel.altavista.com/translate.dyn
to translate some greetings and warnings for visitors....
<Jojo>.....
No idea if the translations are accurate.... may be telling everyone that
the captain's hair is on fire or something.
<cwnews> Are
there any special events you would like us to know about?
<Jojo>
We're currently doing a promo with free t-shirts and ball caps.... it's
the kind of publicity that lasts... people wear those shirts and caps online...
gives the site some kind of focus or credibility. Fun stuff too... going
to do further promos with mouse pads etc... Maybe a giveaway every night.
<cwnews> Tell
us about your Moderators. Are you accepting requests from people who want
to be Moderators?
<Jojo>
Still trying to have mods in worldwide time zones.... makes a big diff
when there's someone there to greet the visitors as they enter. Been very
lucky so far.... skilled and personable people here as mods....
.
Let’s meet a couple of those personable people! We introduce Cooltude
and Legs, two Moderators of WebVoyeur.
Cooltude:
<cwnews> Tell
us a bit about yourself.
<Cooltude>
Well, I'm a 30 year old guy who just likes to meet people and make new
friends. I work in the real world, and with a web company that markets
and sells wholesale and retail all-natural herbal enhancements for health
and well-being.
<cwnews> How
did you find CameraWare?
<Cooltude>
I was chatting at another site (I won't mention names but it's a huge index
also.... (That’s search engine for you laymen..hehe)) when I saw a small,
unobtrusive advertisement for CameraWare. I went to the old CameraWare
chatroom and have been a part of the CameraWare community of friends ever
since.
<cwnews> How
has Moderating a CameraWare Community changed your life?
<Cooltude>
It has given me an opportunity to make new friends that I would never have
had the chance to meet had I not become a daily member of one of the chats.
<cwnews> How
does this Community differ from the rest?
<Cooltude>
We try to be very friendly at Webvoyeur. Sometimes people say that we have
'smart-aleck' attitudes, but that is just us having fun. We definitely
don't mean any harm by the things we say, and besides... you can't be boring
and expect people to relax after a hard day at the office! :-)
<cwnews> What
do you like most about Webvoyeur?
<Cooltude>
I like the fact that you can have the worst day of your life happen to
you, and then you come into Webvoyeur and after a few minutes you are laughing
and chatting with people who want to kick back and relax and have fun !
No untimely events of the day can detour the happiness you get from sharing
experiences with friends who understand! :-) (P.S. It doesn't hurt that
you sometimes can see people offering a few pointers to spice up your private
life with. *Wink*
Legs:
<cwnews> Tell
us a bit about yourself.
<Legs>
I'm 33, married 7 years, two kids. I work full-time during the day
as a secretary in a suburb of Philadelphia.
<cwnews> How
did you find CameraWare?
<Legs>
I found CameraWare through Webvoyeur. David was just setting up the
chat room and e-mailed me, asking me if I wanted to come and check it out.
I met David two years ago from another chat room he had. We became
friendlier and he kept my e-mail address and then two years later, invited
me to WV.
<cwnews> How
has using a CameraWare Community changed your life?
<Legs>
Using CameraWare has really changed my life. I'm not much of an exhibitionist
or anything, but it's opened my eyes to they way some people see me.
And other people's opinions of me (in the room, at least) are nothing like
I thought they would be. I was originally scared to death to go on
camera because I was more or less afraid of the response I'd get (I'm a
pretty big girl, and thought 99% of the girls on cam had really beautiful
bodies). However, I got a camera because I kept hearing how great they
were. I went on camera (it was December 8th...I still remember the
date), and haven't spent a single night off camera since.
<cwnews> How
does this Community differ from the rest?
<Legs>
The community is great, not only because of the variety of (mostly) nice
people, but the mods are terrific. They are really pretty good at
keeping the obnoxious people out or at least at bay. There is little
or no harassment there. It's a safe place to chat.
<cwnews> What
do you like most about Webvoyeur?
<Legs>
As for what I like best about WV.... that’s a tough one. I like that
I am able to go there, after working a full day and then coming home and
being a full-time wife/mother, and I can just be me. I don't have
to answer to anyone, and no one tells me I'm crazy for thinking or doing
anything. I've made some friends that I hope to have for years to
come. The WV is my refuge from my everyday life and I wouldn't trade
that for the world.
Thanks for giving me an opportunity to share my thoughts!
