So you've got a Mac, eh? While none of us here use Macs, we do know
that CameraWare can run on a Mac if the correct software is installed.
Basically you need to be able to run .exe files to run the CameraWare
Video Sender and Standalone Viewer programs. And to view for free,
you need to support java on your Mac. Here's the 2 FAQs we've got on
Macintosh computers.
Q. How do I broadcast my video using CameraWare on my Mac?
A. You must have the Virtual PC software installed. This
software can be found at
www.macwarehouse.com and other retail outlets. For technical
assistance with the Virtual PC software, please contact the
software vendor. We work with CameraWare on Windows. :-)
Q. How can I see the CameraWare viewing applets on my Mac?
A. In order to see the CameraWare viewing applets on your Macintosh,
you need Apple Applet Runner combined with MRJ [the latest version].
This software can be obtained at www.apple.com.
When you run Apple Applet Runner, go to the Applets menu and select Add Applet.
When the dialogue box comes up, type in the URL of the Web page
containing the CameraWare video applet. Save the applet as CameraWare.
Then, when running Apple Applet Runner you can go to the Applets menu, and
the CameraWare shortcut will be there for you to select.
A list of CameraWare Community Viewing Sites can be found at
www.cameraware.com/sites.html.
Each of these sites contain the free CameraWare viewers and their own free
chatrooms too!
For technical assistance with Apple software, please contact the
software vendor.
