CameraWare Slideshow Tutorial

Using the Slide Show feature of the CameraWare Video Sender, you can create your own slide show using up to 1000 images from your own computer or from the Internet, and broadcast it on CameraWare!

To use the slide show feature, you must purchase a CameraWare License.

The slide show information is stored based on the BROADCAST NAME that you use. If you create a slide show and then wish to broadcast live in addition to broadcasting your slide show, just LOGIN again...but use a DIFFERENT broadcast name. Your original slide show information will not be associated with the new broadcast name.

This way, you can run multiple copies of CameraWare Video Sender at once--each with a different slide show in addition to your live broadcast--by having asigning a different broadcast name to each one.

Download and install the latest version of the CameraWare Video Sender. Follow the instructions on entering your CameraWare License Information on our CameraWare Standalone Viewer Tutorial page.

Setup Your Slideshow

  1. Login to the CameraWare Video Sender program. See our Video Sender Tutorial for more instructions on how to login.

  2. Decide on where the images for your slide show will be broadcast from. You can broadcast either locally from your computer's hard drive or from a webpage on the Internet.

  3. In the toolbar above Preview image, click on Video, then choose Edit Slide Show from the dropdown menu. A new window will appear containing all the options for your new slide show.

  4. Click on New to begin adding images to your new slide show.

  5. Another window will appear prompting you to type in the file path and name of the image file located on your computer, or the URL you wish to broadcast images from.

To broadcast an image from your computer, click on Browse, which will bring up the familiar Windows Browse screen. Browse through your computer’s directories and select the images you wish to use.

    Recommended image size is 320x240.

To broadcast an image from a webpage on the Internet, type the URL into the Enter file name or URL field. For example: http://www.cameraware.com/logo.jpg

Note: Only JPG/JPEG images can be used when broadcasting a slide show.

  6. Click on Add to add the image and viewer text to your slide show lineup.

Other options in the window are:

    • DELAY TIME: Select how many seconds to display this image before moving to the next image. The default delay is best; use a long delay if you have a slow connection and a short delay if you have a fast connection.

    • ENTER YOUR VIEWER TEXT: Each image can have its own Viewer Text. Type in the text that you would like to appear to the left of the video image during the broadcast.

  7. To add new images to your slide show, repeat steps 5 and 6. When you are done, click on Cancel to close the screen.

Note: When broadcasting images from a directory/folder on your computer's hard drive, do NOT move any of the images once you have entered the file path and set up your slide show. If you move an image after creating your slide show you will see a red screen where your preview image should be! This happens because the file path of that image has been changed, and your image file can no longer be found.

  8. Your completed slide show entries will look similar to the graphic below:

Click on Finished when you have completed adding images to your slide show.

Other options in the slide show configuration screen are:

    • EDIT: Click Edit to change an image name, image file location, or to edit the displayed viewer text.

    • REMOVE: Click Remove if you make a mistake in the image name or location.

    • MOVE UP/MOVE DOWN: You can change the order in which your images are displayed by clicking on Move up or Move down. This will move the selected image one step up or down in the list.

  9. Along the top of your CameraWare Video Senderwindow, click on Video, then on Choose Video Device

You will now see that Video Slide Show is no longer grey and can be selected. Choose Video Slide Show.

Congratulations! Your slide show is now broadcasting LIVE on CameraWare for all your fans to watch. Enjoy!
